On Tuesday, two Coupe de France quarter-final matches were played, after which it became clear that the former French champion and this year's league leader "Lyon" club ended their performance in this tournament.

The players of Lyon unexpectedly lost 2-1 to the Marseille team and withdrew from the competition. In the match held in Lyon, the guests took the lead first when Toufilou Maoulida scored a goal in the 17th minute. However, just 6 minutes later, "Lyon" managed to equalize the result - Fred sent the ball into the goal after Juninho's penalty kick. Nevertheless, Marseille managed to prove their superiority when Mamadou Niang scored a goal in the 65th minute due to mistakes by Anthony Reveillere and Gregory Coupet.

In the other match on Tuesday, Paris Saint-Germain (P.S.G) also defeated the Lille team 2-1 after a tough battle. It is worth mentioning that it was the Lille club that took the lead first with a goal by Efstathios Tavlaridis in the 30th minute. However, Bonaventure Kalou managed to equalize the result in the first half, and in the second half, Pedro Pauleta secured the victory for his team.
