The Lithuanian national football team has played 241 matches in over 80 years. The first match took place on June 24, 1923, in Kaunas against Estonia (1-1). Lithuania's biggest loss was in 1924 in Paris against Egypt (0-10), and its biggest win was in May 1995 in Riga against Estonia (7-0). Some of the most exotic opponents of the Lithuanian national team were Indonesia (4-0 in Vilnius in November 1996) and Saudi Arabia (1-0 in Riyadh in June 1999).

For the past 16 years, the Lithuanian national team has been participating in various tournaments and friendly matches. In this series of articles, I will review the most important matches of the national team that had the greatest significance or left unforgettable impressions, glorifying our country after the restoration of independence.
