Last year, two players from the Lithuanian champion Panevėžys "Ekranas" club joined the Kėdainiai "Nevėžis", who finished last in the A lyga football championship. On Wednesday evening, it was agreed that this year the team would be represented by a 22-year-old defender and a 20-year-old striker.
Last season, K. Mykolaitis scored two goals in the A lyga championship. In 2006, three former players of Panevėžys team played for "Nevėžis". Recently, a 20-year-old defender who represented "Ekranas" last year joined the team in Kėdainiai.
This season, "Nevėžis" will have as many as ten newcomers wearing their jerseys. The most famous of them is a 29-year-old midfielder who played for Vilnius "Žalgiris" and Klaipėda "Atlantas" last year, and before that won the national championship six times in a row with the "Kaunas" club.
In addition, six young players who have not yet experienced the A lyga have also joined "Nevėžis". The goalkeeper Andrius Strukas, defenders Mindaugas Valančius, Marius Pinskis, Dainius Dobilas, and forwards Aurimas Mančas and Mindaugas Daunoravičius will represent Kėdainiai. All of them played in the country's first league championship.
