Club expands its market overseas. It is reported that the Catalonia team successfully defending the title of Spanish champions will go to the United States this summer, where they will play at least three friendly matches with local and Mexican teams.
As representatives of the highest football league in the United States (MLS) announce, on August 6 and 9, respectively in Los Angeles and Houston, "Barca" will play against teams from Mexico, and on the 12th, football fans in New Jersey will be delighted with a match against the New York Red Bulls.
"We are confident that by collaborating with representatives of the MLS, we will become more easily recognizable to North American residents," said the president of the Spanish club, Joan Laporta. "We also believe that our team and its stars will contribute to the popularization of football in the United States."
This will be the first visit of the Barcelona team to the USA since 2003. Back then, the Spaniards played three matches with European teams there.
