The club competing in the French "Ligue 1" championship announced that it has extended the contract with its current coach Jean Fernandez.
Despite the club still facing the threat of relegation to the second division of French football, its president Carlo Molinaris showed great confidence in this French coach and signed a two-year contract with him.
However, Fernandez will have a doubly harder time proving his abilities next season than this year, as the club can hardly allocate funds for the acquisition of new players. The only consolation for him is the young talents from the club's youth academy.
"Metz" currently occupies the 16th place in the French championship and will have to make an effort to collect as many points as possible in the remaining five rounds if they want to defend the city's honor in the "Ligue 1" next season.
