Two Madrid forwards - Spanish Fernando Torres and Serbian Mateja Kežman - will most likely miss three out of the remaining five matches of the Spanish championship due to injuries.

Spanish national team forward F. Torres, who is the top scorer for Atletico with 13 goals, strained his cruciate ligaments on Sunday after scoring a goal in the 1-0 victory against Athletic Bilbao.

Meanwhile, Serbia and Montenegro national team forward M. Kežman, who has scored seven goals in the Spanish league this year, spent the night in the hospital after falling badly on the ground and injuring his back during Sunday's match.

The club's medical staff reported that both forwards, who are likely to participate in the World Cup in June, will be out for about two weeks.

However, there is also good news in the Atletico camp - after three weeks of rehabilitation, Argentine national team forward Maxi Rodriguez will return to the field.
