"Zaragoza" team defender Savio announced that due to personal reasons, he will have to leave Spain and move to Brazil in the summer. The 32-year-old Brazilian, who has spent nine seasons in Europe, decided to return to his homeland after his father's death last November in order to spend more time with his mother. "I want and need to go back to Brazil. I have been thinking about it for some time and the decision was difficult, but now it is time to solve personal problems that everyone already knows about," said the former Brazilian national team player. Playing in the position of a center-back, Savio left Brazil in 1997 when he moved from "Flamengo" to the Madrid club "Real". After spending five seasons in the Spanish capital and winning numerous titles, he moved to "Bordeaux" and then transferred to "Zaragoza", where he significantly contributed to the team's victory against "Real" in the King's Cup final. Savio's contract with "Zaragoza" was valid until 2007. The player stated that he would like to return to his former club "Flamengo", but admitted that he has not signed any agreements with anyone yet."
