London team will most likely have to do without their main defender Philippe Senderos in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final match taking place on Tuesday.
The 21-year-old Swiss, who earned his place in the main Arsenal lineup, got injured in Sunday's English championship match and, according to team coach Arsene Wenger, is unlikely to take the field in Spain.
"P. Senderos has knee problems," said the Frenchman. "I think he won't be able to play on Tuesday."
This is a big loss for the London team, who seem to need to win the Champions League trophy if they want to compete among the strongest teams on the old continent next season. In the English Premier League, the club currently occupies only fifth place and is 4 points behind the same Tottenham.
In place of P. Senderos in the starting Arsenal lineup on Tuesday, Englishman Sol Campbell is expected to step in. It is worth mentioning that the 31-year-old football player, who is not having the most successful season, also missed the last three matches due to a broken nose.
