On Sunday, two postponed matches were played in the French "Ligue 1" championship, in which the victories were claimed by the clubs "Bordeaux" and "Monaco".

"Bordeaux", currently holding the second spot in the championship, easily defeated the struggling "Sochaux" club playing away this year and secured their 17th victory in the championship. Bordeaux's footballers took the lead in the 19th minute, when Julien Faubert scored a goal. Just eight minutes later, Bordeaux doubled their lead through David Jemmali, and in the 56th minute, the final goal of the match was scored by Jean-Claude Darcheville.

Meanwhile, the "Monaco" club, currently experiencing one of the worst seasons in the club's history, hosted the reigning champions "Lyon" at home over the weekend. In a match practically without stakes, the home team took the lead first, when Javier Chevanton scored a goal in the 32nd minute. At the beginning of the second half, Marco Di Vaio doubled Monaco's lead, and only in the final moments of the match did Lyon score a consolation goal through John Carew.

After this victory, "Monaco" climbed to 10th place in the standings with 49 points and still has a chance to compete for a spot in next season's UEFA Europa League.
