The security guard of the Rome club from France, Ousmane Dabo, was outraged by the game of the defender from Turin - the captain of the Italian national team played so roughly against the capital team's security in Saturday's match that the season ended for him due to a broken thigh bone.
In a recent stumble for the "Juventus" club, an important home match against Rome's "Lazio" began with F. Cannavaro trying to stop G. Mudingayi, skating into the opponent with both legs and breaking his thigh bone. Born in Congo and holding Belgian citizenship, the "Lazio" guard immediately left the field and was operated on the same evening.
"It was a shameful mistake, it disgusts me. It's impossible for such an experienced player like Cannavaro to make such mistakes, such things don't happen for no reason," Dabo pondered, also outraged by the media reaction - "When Richard Vanigli fouls Francesco Totti, everyone judges him, but in Gaby's case there was nothing similar. Different players are judged differently, and that's because 'Mudi' is not as famous as Totti or Cannavaro."
The injured G. Mudingayi was also shocked by the incident: "Cannavaro didn't even get a yellow card. Who knows what would have happened if it had been the other way around, and I had fouled him. After the match, Cannavaro came and apologized, but I haven't heard anything else from the 'Juventus' club."
Interestingly, F. Cannavaro, born in Naples near Rome, also led a "Lazio" player out of the ranks for some time in the first team match this season, and also went unpunished - then the Swiss national team guard Valon Behrami suffered after a rough opponent's play with two straight legs, unable to play for about two months. Last year, going against F. Cannavaro, the attacking player Roberto Muzzi, who had already left the Rome team, broke two ribs.
Meanwhile, O. Dabo received a three-match suspension just for words to the referee - with "Lazio" leading 1-0 in Turin, the Frenchman scored the second goal, but it was disallowed due to a questionable offside, and the player was sent off the field for cursing the referee. The remaining ten "Lazio" players could not withstand it, evening the score at the end of the match against the hosts "Juventus", and snatching a two-point lead in the battle for the championship title against second-placed "Milan".
Truth be told, O. Dabo was far from the only player after a nerve-wracking past round of the Italian championship, which saw as many as 10 red cards, receiving a suspension - after two meetings, who will also have to miss the second yellow card for sarcastic applause to the referee, Roma defender Philippe Mexes, clashed Milan guard Clarence Seedorf, and Messina defender Salvatore Aronica, as well as Cristian Ledesma, pushing the opponent.
