The Simferopol team "Tavria", which has three Lithuanians in its ranks, continues to climb the tournament table "stairs" - in the 28th round of the Ukrainian championship matches, "Tavria" with Nerijus Vasiliauskas' goal overtook the third-placed Odesa team "Chernomorets" and rose to sixth position.
In the away game in Odesa, the match didn't start very successfully for the former outsiders "Tavria", as early as the 8th minute a penalty kick was awarded against the visitors, but goalkeeper Valentinas Poltavicius saved the shot.
This was an important episode, as within ten minutes, after Aleksiejus Godinas' pass from the flanks, N.Vasiliauskas headed his team into the lead, and just a minute later, N.Vasiliauskas' shot was blocked by the goalkeeper, but Alexandras Kovlakas was the first to reach the ball and doubled the lead.
In the 54th minute, "Chernomorets" managed to convert a penalty kick and reduce the deficit, but it did not save the hosts from defeat, so "Tavria" took home three points. Among the winners, N.Vasiliauskas played the entire match, Andrius Jokšas remained on the bench, and Audrius Veikutis was not registered for the match.
