According to reports in the English press on Monday, the new coach of the English national team is set to be the club's head coach Steve McClaren.
S.McClaren, who currently works as an assistant to Sven-Goran Eriksson in the English national team, has become the leading candidate for this position after Luiz Felipe Scolari rejected the offer from the English Football Association.
S.McClaren demonstrated his abilities on Thursday when in the UEFA Cup semi-final, "Middlesbrough" managed to overturn a three-goal deficit against Bucharest's "Steaua" and advance to the final, where they will face the Spanish club "Sevilla."
S.G.Eriksson will step down as the coach of the English national team immediately after the World Cup in Germany.
