As Guus Hiddink's departure from the club in Eindhoven is inevitable, a proposal to become the new head coach was received by Ronald Koeman.

Currently, Ronald Koeman is coaching a club in the capital of Portugal, Lisbon, but according to reports in the press on Tuesday, Danish champions hope to receive R. Koeman's answer by the beginning of next week.

"These are just rumors and nothing more. He still has a one-year contract with Benfica," explained R. Koeman's agent Gerrit Lagenddijk.

Guus Hiddink, who led PSV to nineteen Dutch championships, recently became the head coach of the Russian national team and previously took the Australian national team to the World Cup.

Under R. Koeman's leadership, the Benfica team reached the quarterfinals of the Champions League, where they lost to Barcelona.

This offer from PSV may tempt R. Koeman, as Benfica is not guaranteed a spot in the Champions League next season.

There were also reports that PSV is interested in Henk Ten Cate, assistant coach of Barcelona's head coach Frank Rijkaard, but it is believed that the Dutchman is more interested in becoming the head coach of Ajax in Amsterdam.
