Lithuania's youth team narrowly missed victory - on Tuesday, in friendly matches in Kaunas against peers from Poland, Lithuanians took the lead after an own goal by the opponents, but conceded a goal at the very end of the match and had to settle for a draw.

The national team match in Poland starts at 21:00.

U-21 Lithuania 1 - 1 Poland U-21

68` [1 - 0] Blažej Telichowski (own goal)

90` [1 - 1] Kamil Oziemciuk

Lithuania U-21: Šetkus (46` S.Klevinskas); Skroblas, Bartkus, Gnedojus, Ramonas, Panka, Lukša (46` Galkevičius), Tomkevičius (65` Ivaškevičius), Urbšys (70` Šernas); Činikas, Blažys (65` Labukas)

The match started evenly and both teams exchanged unsuccessful attacks. In the first half, the first opportunity was for Poland, but Ernestas Šetkus saved his goal, and in the 29th minute, Lithuania's youth team was close to scoring, but after a foul against Edvinas Blažys, Mindaugas Panka's penalty kick hit the bar.

A few minutes later, Andrius Urbšys created a dangerous episode on the edge but his pass to E. Blažys did not reach its target. At the end of the half, the attempts of both teams were repelled by the goalkeepers, and the teams went to rest with a 0-0 displayed on the scoreboard.

During the break, S.Klevinskas replaced E.Šetkus in the Lithuanian goal, and Dominykas Galkevičius entered the field instead of Vytautas Lukša. Meanwhile, more than half of the players changed in the Polish team. At the beginning of the half, Marius Činikas threatened the visitors' goal twice, but one of his attempts was very unsuccessful, and the other shot lacked accuracy.

Midway through the half, due to a mistake by the home defenders, the Poles had a great opportunity, but the Lithuanians managed to defend in the last minute. In the 65th minute, coach Vitalijus Stankevičius replaced E.Blažys with Tadu Labukas, and just a few minutes later, the latter helped his team move forward - after his pass from the wing, the ball was redirected into the visitors' goal by the Polish team captain Blažej Telichowskis.

Nevertheless, victory slipped away from the Lithuanians in the very last minute of the match, when Kamil Oziemčiukas sent the ball into the net after a corner kick, securing a draw for his team. The match ended with a final score of 1-1.
