In the only Thursday match of the 36th round of the Spanish championship, Madrid's "Real" secured a 3-2 victory as guests and climbed to the second place in the tournament table, pushing "Valencia" down.
2 - 3 Madrid's
34' [0 - 1] Roberto Carlos (11 m.)
60' [0 - 2] Roberto Soldado
70' [0 - 3] Robinho
76' [1 - 3] Matabuena
90' [2 - 3] Matabuena
In the match in Santander, "Real" took the lead in the 34th minute, when Brazilian Robinho's earned penalty was converted by his compatriot Roberto Carlos. In the second half, after a shot-pass from Raul, the young Roberto Soldado sent the ball into the net, and just ten minutes later, Robinho himself scored after a pass from Guti.
However, even three goals without a response didn't dishearten the hosts: after six minutes, goalkeeper Sergio Matabuena sent the rebounding ball into the goal, and in the first minute of added time, he once again jumped first to the ball that bounced off after a penalty kick.
