On the penultimate Sunday of the 37th round of the Spanish championship in Madrid, the "Real" footballers played a 3-3 draw with "Villarreal," failing to practically secure the second place, which guarantees participation in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League.

In the match held in Madrid, two goals were scored by the Brazilian Julio Baptista, and one was added by the Frenchman Zinedine Zidane, for whom these were the last matches in the "Santiago Bernabeu" stadium wearing the "Real" kit. However, Uruguayan Diego Forlan outshone the veteran by scoring two goals and helping his team secure a point.

After this victory, "Real" occupies the second place in the tournament table and with just one game left until the end of the championship, they surpass the "Valencia" footballers by one point, who played a 1-1 draw with "Atletico" on Saturday.

Just a year ago, the "Cadiz" footballers, who had climbed to the highest Spanish league, will have to leave it after this season - although they were leading in the match in Madrid against "Getafe" after an L.Lobos goal in the seventh minute, the hosts scored three goals in the last twenty minutes of the match and triumphed 3-1.

"Cadiz" joined "Malaga," who had previously withdrawn from the fight for survival in La Liga.

In the last round of matches in La Coruna, the "Athletic Bilbao" eleven celebrated a 2-1 victory, formally securing their survival in the top league. Meanwhile, "Deportivo" lost hope of playing in the UEFA Europa League next year.

For the last remaining place in La Liga, this year's King's Cup winners Barcelona's "Espanyol" and Vitoria's "Alaves" are fighting. The Barcelona footballers are in a better position - they lead their rivals by two points before the final round.
