European football giants Munich and Turin have been actively interested in Brazilian Pepe recently.
The 23-year-old defender replaced Ricardo Carvalho in the team two years ago when he left for Chelsea in London, solidifying his place in the starting lineup and attracting the attention of European giants with his successful performances.
In recent years, Pepe has been most actively pursued by the Spanish club Deportivo La Coruna, but the Portuguese club has stated that they will not sell their defender for less than 20 million euros. Therefore, financially struggling Deportivo practically gives up on signing this player.
On the other hand, powerful Italian and German clubs can afford to spend such amounts on new player acquisitions, so it is quite possible that Pepe will represent one of these teams next season, as both clubs do not hide their desire to strengthen their squad before the new season.
Pepe's current contract with the Portuguese champions Porto, which became champions this year, is valid until 2008.
