Now the defender of the French national team, representing England's team, Jean-Alain Boumsong, may return to the "Ligue 1" championship next season - clubs have recently shown active interest in the player.
The 26-year-old defender moved from "Rangers" in Glasgow to "Newcastle" for 8 million pounds just over a year ago, but he did not perform well in England and recently even lost his place in the starting lineup.
Meanwhile, "Lens," currently fighting for a place in the next season's UEFA Europa League tournament, announced that they have already made contact with representatives of an English team and started negotiations for the player's transfer. As reported, the defender would be loaned to the French team next season with the possibility of permanently acquiring him after a year.
The only problem that could hinder this transfer could be the player's salary, since "Newcastle" would likely have to pay part of his salary next season if they loan out the defender.
Boumsong has previously had successful appearances in the "Ligue 1" representing the "Auxerre" team before moving to Scotland.
