Former Germany national team defender Mehmet Scholl has extended his contract with the German champions Bayern Munich.
The 35-year-old veteran, who has been with the team since 1992 when he left the Karlsruhe team, will take on an unspecified role in the team.
Mehmet Scholl has represented his country 36 times, but has not been called up since Jürgen Klinsmann took over as Germany's national team coach. After Bayern Munich was crowned German champions on Saturday, he became the first player to win this title 8 times.
