In the Lithuanian championship, FBK "Kaunas" continues to march relentlessly - in the 7th round match, the country's vice champions defeated "Sūduva" away and clinched their sixth victory out of the same number of possible wins. The second victory in the championship was achieved by "Žalgiris", who won against "Šilutė" as guests, while "Atlantas" failed to beat "Nevėžio" at home. It seemed that the undefeated "Kaunas" team, who had been victorious until this round, faced a very tough away match against "Sūduva" in Marijampolė, which had not yet lost points on their home field. However, the match started very successfully for the Kaunas team - in the 3rd minute, their striker Andrius Velička put his team ahead. After playing for an hour, the Kaunas team doubled their lead with a goal from Bosnian Edin Pehličius, and a bit later the same A.Velička solidified the victory with his second goal. With nine minutes remaining, the hosts scored a consolation goal through Andrius Urbšys, but it didn't save "Sūduva" from defeat. This victory allowed the Kaunas club to gain a 7-point lead over their pursuers, as in the other day's matches, Vilnius "Vėtra" forced Panevėžys "Ekranas" to suffer their first defeat of the season at home and now share the 2-4 places with "Šiauliai", who won against the "Vilnius" club away. The first away victory was achieved by the Vilnius "Žalgiris", which had started the season poorly - they defeated "Šilutė" with a minimal result of 1-0 as guests. The winning goal in the middle of the first half was scored by goalkeeper Eimantas Poderis. Meanwhile, this round did not go well for Klaipėda "Atlantas", who had defeated the capital city team in the previous round. In the season opener at home, the seaside club took the lead through a goal by Maksim Morozov in the 41st minute against Kėdainiai "Nevėžis", but with nine minutes remaining until the end of the match, Vitalis Stankevičius equalized the result and snatched the first point for the "A Lyga" underdogs.
