The Lithuanian champions Panevezys "Ekranas" experienced their first failure of the season in the "A lyga" against the host team "Vetra" in the 7th round match in Vilnius. Both goals at the beginning of the match were scored by the legionary forwards - Ukrainian Sergej Kuznecov and Russian German Lovcevas.

The match at Vilnius "Vetra" stadium started without delay and in the second minute the spectators saw the first goal. After a debut injury in "Vetra" team, German Lovcevas caught the Panevezys unprepared and very technically passed the ball to his attacker partner Sergej Kuznecov, who had nothing else to do but send the ball into Arvydas Skrupskis' guarded goal.
After the early conceded goal, the "Ekranas" players were a bit shaken and within three minutes the second goal fell into their net - after a melee in the penalty area Skrupskis managed to deflect the first shot by German Lovcevas, but the Russian managed to send the ball into the goal on the second attempt.
After the score became 2-0, the "Ekranas" players started playing more actively and gradually took the initiative into their hands. In the 17th minute, Mantas Saveanas, who was playing actively, received a great pass in the penalty area, but the leader of the Panevezys team lacked a bit of speed.
In the 25th minute, after a "Ekranas" counterattack, Povilas Lukšys had a chance, but his shot passed over the goal. Just a minute later, Lukšys again emerged alone against "Vetra" goalkeeper Vaidas Žutautas, but he managed to eliminate the danger.
