As we have already announced before, the Ukrainian national team and club striker Andriy Shevchenko suffered a knee injury during the penultimate round of the Serie A championship, but according to his doctor, he will be able to represent the Ukrainian national team already in the first World Cup match against the Spanish team.
The player's health manager Jean Pierras Meersseman confirmed that the player should recover in time for the start of the World Cup and be ready to take to the field in the first match.
After conducting tests, it was revealed that the player will not be able to play for 25 days. According to the doctor, this amount of time will be enough for the footballer to fully recover and get into good sporting shape.
"After detailed examinations, it was revealed that Shevchenko will not be able to play for 25 days. Of those, 15 days will be for rest, while the remaining 10 will be used for light training to maintain good form," Meersseman said.
The first match in the World Cup Group H for the Ukrainian national team will be on June 14th, as we already mentioned, against the Spanish national team. After this match, the Ukrainian team will face the Saudi Arabian and Tunisian teams on June 19th and 23rd, respectively.
