Luciano Spalletti regrets injuries © EuroFootball.com

After the loss in the Italian Cup final tiebreaker match with a score of 3-1 and an aggregate score of 4-2, the capital city team coach Luciano Spalletti regretted that injuries to key players prevented the team from fighting more seriously for this title.

"I liked the response of my team after conceding a goal in the sixth minute, but the second 'Inter' goal created even more problems for us in our fight for victory during a counterattack," shared L. Spalletti his thoughts.

Throughout the season, this coach was hindered by injuries to key team players. This final was no exception, as several important players were missing once again.

"Although I had quite a few injuries throughout the season, I do not like to blame losses on such things. I will not do that today either, although I can say that if Daniele De Rossi had been playing in our ranks, I think the game would have been quite different. He is a very important person for our team," expressed the 'Roma' coach his regret about one of the key players' injury.

Nevertheless, this match brought a bit of optimism to the team - after a three-month break, the team captain appeared on the pitch again. However, the 'Roma' coach admitted that it was already too late to change anything when the player, who also plays for the Italian national team, entered the field.

"F. Totti's foot condition does not allow him to play the full match, so we both decided that it would be better if he appeared on the field after a substitution. Unfortunately, when he entered the pitch, the end of the match was practically decided. The only optimistic thing is that he played quite well," talked about the team captain L. Spalletti.

Meanwhile, the veteran of the team graciously congratulated their opponents on a deserved victory and suggested that his team looked weaker than the opponents in the second match.

"Perhaps we deserved more from the first match, but today we were simply weaker than the opponents, who played excellently, and with that, I would like to congratulate them. However, I think the difference between the teams could have been smaller," stated D. Tommasi.

Asked to comment on the 'Juventus' scandal regarding attempting to influence referees, the 'Roma' team's goalkeeper said that the details of the scandal must be made public, as people passionate about football must know what is happening.
