s reported on Thursday by the Royal Club itself, the elections for the president of Madrid will take place on July 2nd.

President Fernando Martin was dismissed from his duties on April 27th by the decision of the council, and since then, the senior 83-year-old Real board member Luis Gomez-Montejano has become the interim president.

Before the final round of the Spanish championship, Real Madrid is in second place, ahead of third-placed Valencia by points. The Royal Club can secure a spot in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League if they defeat the UEFA Cup winners Sevilla away on Tuesday.
