The coach of the Spanish superclub, Dutchman Frank Rijkaard, praised the team's leader Ronaldinho. Last month, the Brazilian, who celebrated his 24th birthday, led his team to another great victory - Barcelona defeated the city's other team Espanyol 4-1.
Although in yesterday's match the first goal from eleven meters was scored by Espanyol, Barcelona responded by scoring four goals: one each from Ronaldinho and van Bronckhorst, and two from Javier Saviola.
"Ronaldinho played a great game," said the Barcelona coach. "He gave us many enjoyable moments, played well with his teammates. He led us to victory."
"He always plays well, but playing like this gives a lot of pleasure to the fans and teammates," Rijkaard continued. "Yesterday wasn't our best game, but we certainly created a lot of wonderful moments."
Last summer, the Brazilian who moved from PSG to Barcelona quickly became the team's leader. This season, he is the team's top scorer, having already scored 18 goals in the Spanish championship.
