The team is currently under investigation for attempting to influence referees, but the coach of this team, Fabio Capello, and his players claim that they have the right to be proud of the "Serie A" title they have won.
"We led the Italian championship for 76 rounds in a row. No other team has achieved such a great streak, and we can be proud of ourselves and hold our heads held high because of it. We have excellent players in our team and they have proven that they can also perform under pressure," praised F. Capello his players.
The entire Juventus board resigned due to the referee influence scandal, and reports appeared in the press that if the allegations were proven, points in the league table could be taken away from the Turin team, maybe even some of the titles from recent years, or in the worst case, the club could even be relegated to "Serie B." However, F. Capello does not believe that any measures will be taken.
"Why should this happen? People should not judge the club until the verdict of the investigation is clear. I think after the final decision, we will all laugh off the thoughts of our removal from 'Serie A.' We all support our club board, which has done so much for the club to achieve its current heights. I believe that the criticism of Luciano Moggi in Italy has simply turned into a trend," continued F. Capello.
Juventus' coach also spoke about the words of AC Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi, in which the former Italian prime minister stated that Juventus should be stripped of two Serie A titles and given to Milan.
"Silvio Berlusconi spoke as a fan, completely unprofessionally. Let's not forget the fact that the investigation also involves the Milan club, and that says it all," F. Capello talked about his competitors.
The titled coach, asked about a possible move to Inter, said that for now he sees his future with Juventus.
"I definitely see Juventus in my future. I am very happy at this club and I see no reason for my possible departure. I really think I will stay in Turin," F. Capello talked about his future.
The Juventus team's defender and captain of the Italy national team also expressed his thoughts on the situation.
"This scudetto is very important to us. We were at the top of the table all season and now we have finally won this title. I think this season was great. The investigation into referee influence is a big test for the club, but I would like to praise the club's fans who, despite all this scandal, came to celebrate with us," said F. Cannavaro.
