After the NFKA "A Lyga" eighth round match between the teams of "Šiauliai" and Vilnius "Vėtra" ended in a draw in Šiauliai on Sunday, the coaches were in different moods.
The coach of "Šiauliai," Saulius Vertelis, stated that he was satisfied with the team earning one point: "The team's task was not to concede goals. In several matches already, we do not let in goals - the team follows the tasks set by the coach. It can be said that we are satisfied with the draw."
"I think the seventh round has passed, and we haven't lost six matches in a row, which is not bad," continued S. Vertelis. "It doesn't matter that we played at home today and lost two points at home, but we can win away - the pitch doesn't give us any advantage."
After the match, "Vėtra" coach Edgaras Gessas spoke entirely differently, claiming to be unsatisfied with both the game and the result.
"Our schedule is now such that we play every three or four days. There will be seven matches in twenty days soon," said the coach. "The players are tired, and I think that without rest, they cannot play as well as they can."
E. Gessas had only good words for the "Šiauliai" team: "They are a young, fast team, strengthened by a few very strong Ukrainians. The team is really strong, so it's probably not for nothing that they are second in the standings."
