The defender of the German national team, Michael Ballack, was officially introduced as a player at a press conference on Monday. The attacking defender transferred to the new club from Munich.
The two-time English league champions signed a three-year contract with the German. Michael Ballack is expected to form a defensive trio in the new club with Frank Lampard, sometimes giving way to Michael Essien.
The player revealed that the main motivation for his move to the London club is the desire to win the Champions League. He also expressed his wish to wear the jersey with number 13 in this team and hopes that his English language skills acquired in childhood school will be enough for him.
The new member of the Chelsea team did not spare compliments for the team's coach, Jose Mourinho.
