As soon as it became clear that the long-time goalkeeper of the club, Mickael Landreau, would represent the opponents of Paris in the next season, the team quickly found a replacement for him - representatives of "Nantes" announced today that they acquired a young Serbian national team goalkeeper, Vladimir Stojković.
Stojković, considered one of the most promising Serbian goalkeepers, is included in the Serbian national team for the World Cup, but will most likely spend the competition on the bench, being the second goalkeeper after Dragoslav Jevrić.
Last season, Stojković played for his homeland club "Crvena Zvezda" and with his reliable performance helped them become champions of the country. However, the team's management admitted that they could no longer keep such a talented goalkeeper in their club.
"We made a difficult but inevitable decision to sell Vladimir, as we could no longer afford to keep such a talented footballer in our team," said "Crvena Zvezda" president Dragan Stojković.
It is reported that the player has signed a three-year contract with the "Ligue 1" club. Before the World Cup, the goalkeeper will also participate in the European Under-21 Championship in Portugal.
