Unlike many of their competitors, Brazil's national team coach Carlos Alberto did not reveal any surprises when announcing his team's lineup for the World Cup.
The current world champions will enter the competition in Germany with a strong squad. Perhaps the biggest surprise in the team lineup is the name of goalkeeper Rogerio Ceni, who plays for "Sao Paulo" club. Having scored more than 50 goals from set pieces during his career, the goalkeeper will replace Marcos, who has not yet recovered from injury.
There will also be no defender Roque Junior in the team, but left-back Gilberto, who plays in Germany, managed to make it into the squad. He is considered the backup for Roberto Carlos in case the latter gets injured during the championship.
Brazil will start the tournament on June 13th with a match against Croatia in Group F. Along with these teams, Japan and Australia national teams will also compete in Group F.
