For two seasons in a row, Victor Munoz helped reach the final of the Spanish Cup, but he will not be coaching the team next season. This was announced by representatives of the Spanish club on Monday.
Munoz arrived at "Zaragoza" in January 2004, replacing the dismissed head coach Paco Flores. In that same season, Munoz managed to lead the mid-table team of the Spanish "La Liga" to the final of the Spanish Cup, where his team beat the royal Madrid "Real" 3-2 and won the trophy.
This season, "Zaragoza" once again reached the final of the cup, defeating "Real" along the way, but this time unexpectedly lost 4-1 to the weaker team of "Espanyol". In the Spanish championship, the team finished in 11th place this season, and this was the main reason why the team's leaders, demanding better results, did not want to extend the contract with Munoz, who had previously played for "Barcelona".
