The coach of the Ivory Coast national team, Henri Michel, announced the final lineup that will go to Germany. As expected, the team will include players from two London clubs in England - defenders Emmanuel Eboue and Kolo Toure from Arsenal, and the team's attacking leader Didier Drogba from Chelsea.
Most of the players in the squad, a total of 13, play in the top divisions of French football - Ligue 1 and Ligue 2. We will also unexpectedly not see "Kaiserslautern" forward Babacar Sonogo in the team.
In the midfield, the main string-pullers in the team should be the younger brother of Kolo Toure, Yaya, who plays for Greece's Olympiakos, and Didier Zakora representing Saint-Etienne.
Ivory Coast made it to the so-called "Group of Death" in the World Cup, along with Argentina, the Netherlands, and Serbia. The first match of the tournament for the Africans will be on June 10th against the South American representatives, the Argentinians.
