Like most of the other eleven teams, Tunisian national team coach Roger Lemmerras surprised many football specialists by announcing the team composition, including two players who have never represented their country before.
Defender Mehdi Meryeh and forward Yassine Chikhaoui will play their first game in the Tunisian national team during the World Cup in Germany. The young Lyon striker Hatemas Ben-Arfa was also invited to the team, but the player refused to represent his country's national team.
Tunisia will play in Group H of the World Cup against the national teams of Ukraine, Spain, and Saudi Arabia. In their first match, the Tunisians will play against one of the tournament's underdogs, Saudi Arabia, on June 14th.
