F. Morientes: "If I don't play, I won't stay in Liverpool" © EuroFootball.com

Fernando Morientes - at a crossroads of decision. The experienced striker from Spain stated that this summer he is considering the possibility of leaving the club and seeking happiness abroad.

The thirty-year-old Spaniard, who did not make it into the national team for the World Cup, says that an English team is looking for a new powerful striker. In that case, for a footballer who has performed unsuccessfully and unproductively, there would likely be no place in the starting lineup.

"People say that Liverpool is planning to buy at least one striker and the coach Rafael Benitez no longer trusts me. But I cannot stay here if I don't play.

"I spent a year and a half at Liverpool, but I was plagued by injuries and other things, so I never felt right. I will have to talk to the coach and figure out what he wants from me."

Fernando Morientes arrived in England in January of last year from Madrid for 9 million euros. During that time, the striker participated in 61 matches, but only managed to score 12 goals.
