According to the English press, despite numerous rumors about his future, French forward Thierry Henry remains in the London club and should sign a new contract in the coming days.
For some time, Henry has been strongly linked with a Spanish club, to which "Arsenal" lost 2-1 in the UEFA Champions League final on Wednesday. However, it seems that the Frenchman is now ready to extend his contract with the English team.
"I hope to stay here as long as I can still run with the ball," Henry said. "I cannot betray the team and its fans, as we are all like one family."
"I admire the game of 'Barcelona', but on Wednesday 'Arsenal' showed that they can fight and I hope to sign a new contract tomorrow."
The 28-year-old Frenchman arrived at "Arsenal" in 1999 from Turin's "Juventus" and scored his 200th goal for the London team last season, becoming the club's all-time leading goalscorer.
Last month, the English Football Writers' Association named Henry the best foreign player in the English Premier League for the third time.
