Amsterdam club announced that this year the new team's coach will be Henk Ten Cate, who has been working as an assistant coach to the team's coach Frank Rijkaard.
Ten Cate, who was born in Amsterdam and is currently 51 years old, will replace Danny Blind in the new position, who was removed from the coach's duties at "Ajax" earlier this month.
"Ajax" announced that H. Ten Cate, who helped lead the "Barcelona" team to the top of the Champions League this year, has signed a two-year contract with the Amsterdam club.
Danny Blind started leading the legendary Dutch club fourteen months ago and led the team to second place in the Dutch league last season, securing a place in the Champions League for the team and winning the Dutch Super Cup in August. However, this season "Ajax" finished only fourth in the league, trailing the winner "PSV" by 24 points.
Therefore, dissatisfied with the club's results, the president of "Ajax" decided to remove Danny Blind from his duties and he will be replaced by Henk Ten Cate, who will try to bring the team back to the top next season.
