On Sunday, five matches of the 9th round of the Lithuanian "A Lyga" championship were played. FBK "Kaunas" continued their unbeaten streak this season by defeating defending champions "Ekranas" in a thrilling match in Panevezys, while "Vetra" climbed to second place after a draw with "Zalgiris". "Siauliai" continues to impress by defeating "Suduva" this time, and "Nevezis" secured their first victory in two years.

In the battle of the strongest teams in the country in Panevezys, the guests from Kaunas started stronger, but "Ekranas" gradually took over and scored the first goal of the match through one of the most prolific forwards in recent years, Povilas Luksys. However, in the second half, Kaunas managed to equalize the score with a long-range strike from Kestutis Ivaskevicius. With the score leveled, Kaunas gained a psychological advantage and secured victory in the last minutes of the match through a goal from Bosnian legionnaire Edin Pehlicius.

After this win, Kaunas now has 27 points and a 12-point lead over Ekranas. Taking advantage of Ekranas' slip, Vetra climbed to second place in the standings after their draw with Zalgiris. "Suduva" and "Siauliai" share the third-fourth positions after their respective victories.

Further down the table, "Atlantas" and "Vilnius" played a goalless draw, while "Nevezis" secured their first victory in two years by defeating "Silute" with goals from Vitalis Stankevicius. The victory pushed Nevezis off the bottom spot in the standings.
