Recently, there have been rumors that the UEFA Champions League and Spanish league-winning team's player Ludovic Giuly may leave the team next season. However, the player himself denied these reports and confirmed that he will stay in Barcelona at least until 2008.
In the French press, there have been reports recently that the club that became the "Ligue 1" champions for the fifth consecutive season this year wants to see the French player in their team and is willing to buy Giuly from the Spanish club. However, the player himself stated that he is happy in the Barcelona team and will not go anywhere this year.
"Yes, it's true, representatives of Lyon contacted me and we talked about a possible transfer, but my contract with Barcelona is valid until 2008, so I see no reason to terminate it earlier," Giuly said.
"This year I had a great season in Barcelona and I am ready to repeat it next year, so I have no intention of leaving anywhere."
As we reported earlier, despite a great season in Spain, Giuly was not called up to the French national team and will not represent the team at the World Cup starting in Germany in June.
