London club, ignoring the rumors circulating in the media, offered forward Hernan Crespo to extend his contract for another two years.
For some time now, the Argentine has been linked to a return to Italy, where and are interested in his services.
"Even though my contract is still valid for two more years, Chelsea offered to extend it," said the thirty-year-old H. Crespo. "The contract would end when I turn 33, so it means things are going well for me here."
However, it is still unclear not only whether H. Crespo will extend his contract, but also if the forward will stay in London for the next season. The player himself has repeatedly stated that he would like to return to Italy, where he had a successful part of his career.
"I don't know if I will stay in England. I am inclined to return to Italy or go to Spain. As for Chelsea, they know that I am more or less happy here. R. Abramovich (Chelsea owner) said to me: how could it be? The fans love you, the coach wants you to stay, I offer you to extend the contract and you still want to leave? I simply replied that I feel better in a Latin country than in England."
