The hopes of Scottish champions for this year's UEFA Champions League winner Henrik Larsson's return to Glasgow are collapsing.
H. Larsson, who rose from the bench to help the club score two goals and snatch victory in the Champions League final against London's "Arsenal," is leaving the Spanish champions and will join his hometown team "Helsingborg."
However, "Celtic" manager Peter Lawwell said that he tried to lure the former "Parkhead" hero back to Scotland for another challenge in Europe.
"I spoke to Henrik and his agent Rob Janssen, but the response I got to what I said was a simple 'no,' " Lawwell said on Thursday. "There is no need to press him further, he will decide for himself. I would just like to add: if he does become interested in returning to us, we are ready to talk to him."
