Vilnius defender of "Žalgiris" and the Lithuanian youth national team will miss at least 2 months due to a Metatarsal fracture - the 22-year-old player from the capital left the derby match against "Vėtra" on May 21st hobbling. Later, the footballer was diagnosed with a Metatarsal fracture, so his foot will have to be in a cast for approximately five weeks.
Furthermore, the defender's foot may require surgery, during which a special plate would be inserted. Whether the foot will be operated on will be determined next week after taking foot X-rays and evaluating the healing process.
"I suffered the injury in a duel with an opponent," M. Kazlauskas remembers. - "I didn't feel it right away, but when I tried to start running, I realized something happened. My friends encouraged me to "Keep playing, you can do it!", but I couldn't."
The 22-year-old defender, who transferred from one capital club "Vilnius" to another in the off-season, admits that he feels very good in the new team and is eager to return to the field: "The injury really ruined my mood, but I need to accept it and do everything to be able to return as soon as possible. "Žalgiris" has a great team, I receive a lot of support from both my teammates and coaches and managers."
