On Friday, the company "Codesport," which acquired a controlling stake from former president Alfonso Solans, is taking action - Victor Fernandez will officially be appointed as the new club's coach in the near future.

"He is already working at the club and will be officially introduced in the near future," said the head of "Codesport."

V. Fernandez became famous in Europe at the beginning of the last decade, and received great recognition in 1995 when he won the UEFA Cup with "Zaragoza."

After coaching "Tenerife" for a while, from 1998 to 2002 he coached Vigo's "Celta," which made it to the UEFA Cup tournament every year. Later, he coached Seville's "Betis" for two years, and in August 2004, he took over at "Porto" after Jose Mourinho left for "Chelsea."

In the summer of 2005, after a series of poor results, he was fired from "Porto" and has been unemployed since then.

At "Zaragoza," V. Fernandez will replace the recently dismissed Victor Munoz.
