The team's defender decided to end his football career and took advantage of the changes happening in the club to take over the position of team manager. The former player of the Italian national team hung up his boots "on the hook" after spending 11 years at the prestigious Italian club.

"I am very happy to have received this opportunity. This chance allows me to start a new career and at the same time stay with the team. I will do everything to be worthy of this job," said the 35-year-old retired athlete.

G. Pessotto, who arrived at "Juventus" from the neighboring city team "Torino" in the 1995-96 season, became Italy's champion six times during the decade spent at the club. He won four Italian cups, the Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup, and the Intercontinental Cup. The defender represented the Italian national team 22 times and in 2000 became a European vice-champion with them.

Therefore, while Italy continues to recover from the "Calciopoli" scandal that rocked the entire world of football, "Juventus" is restructuring its personnel. Alessio Secco, who previously held the position of team manager, has become the sports director, and G. Pessotto has been appointed to the vacated position.
