The Rotterdam-based attacker Salomon Kalou, who failed to obtain Dutch citizenship and therefore could not join the country's World Cup team, is currently negotiating with London-based.
Feyenoord representative Chris Woerts announced on Saturday that the twenty-year-old player from the Ivory Coast left on Friday for an official meeting with the Premier League champions.
"We allowed Kalou to talk with representatives of Chelsea. We ourselves have met with them several times. Everything is moving in the right direction, but we still have not reached an agreement," explained C. Woerts to the Dutch media.
Dutch national team coach Marco van Basten had previously told the player that he could play in the World Cup team if he only receives Dutch citizenship.
