The club that finished 6th in the recently concluded French "Ligue 1" championship announced that the new team coach will be the former strategist Jean Fernandez who will lead the team next season. Earlier this month, France left his coaching position at the Marseille club and quickly found a new job. In the "Auxerre" team, he will replace Jacques Santini who was released from the club after the season. "We considered several options, but we chose Jean's candidacy," said "Auxerre" president Jean-Claude Hamel. Meanwhile, Fernandez's former club "Marseille" is still looking for a new coach. As reported earlier, currently unemployed former "Monaco" coach Didier Deschamps has declined to take the position of head coach at "Marseille", so the most likely candidates to lead the Marseille club next year are Laurent Blanc and Jean Tigana.
