Can D.Šemberas transfer to "Hearts"? © EuroFootball.com

According to the Russian media, the national team defender could become another compatriot in the Lithuanian colony in Edinburgh. The Lithuanian player himself mentioned this possibility in an interview with a Lithuanian newspaper, confirming that he would consider the offer if the Scottish club offered better financial terms than he currently has at his Moscow club.

Right-sided defender D. Šemberas moved there in 2002 and helped the team win the UEFA Cup in 2005, sweeping all titles in Russia. The 27-year-old player, who also sometimes competes in the safe position, has represented the Lithuanian national team 43 times.

Many experts consider the right-back position to be the weakest link in the "Hearts" team. The main player in that position is Robbie Neilson. "Hearts" also have another Lithuanian player who can play in that position - Nerijus Barasa, but he has been recovering from an injury since joining the team in January, so he has played very few matches for the Edinburgh team.

It is worth noting that in the recently concluded Scottish championship, the team that finished second, "Hearts," was represented by four Lithuanian players: the aforementioned Nerijus Barasa, midfielders Saulius Mikoliūnas and Deividas Česnauskis, and forward Edgaras Jankauskas.
