Šiauliai's "Napolis" football club has acquired the "Atžalyno" children's leisure base belonging to the "Nuklonas" factory. In this camp, the club plans to establish a football base in Šiauliai.
The club's management hopes to build several stadiums here and thus solve the lack of bases. The base would host training camps, tournaments where not only Lithuanian but also foreign clubs would participate. High-level matches would take place.
The camp buildings are in good condition, they just need to be adapted for football players, their training, and rest. This is currently the main goal of the club.
"This is a new phenomenon in Lithuania. We are perhaps the only ones who can boast such a base and for us, a young club, this is a big step towards improvement," said FK "Napolis" director Saulius Lesnickas.
"The most funds will be needed for the installation of football fields and training halls. We hope that by properly arranging this place, the lack of fields in Šiauliai will be solved," said S. Lesnickas.
Currently, over 200 athletes are training in the "Napolis" football club, playing in 9 different age teams.
