FIFA representatives contacted the Football Association board asking to investigate alleged friendship ties between London and Belgian clubs. According to unnamed sources cited by the BBC, the Gunners' club secretly paid 1 million pounds.
The letter reads: "We kindly ask you to investigate this specific case and inform us as soon as possible if you find evidence of financial support to the Belgian 'Beveren' club."
The London club does not deny lending money to the club, but describes it as a loan to the 'Beveren' club. Club representatives claim they never intervened in the club's internal politics and did not control it.
Meanwhile, the rules of the English Premier League strictly prohibit giving any loans or shares to other clubs, but this rule does not apply beyond England's borders.
The London 'Arsenal' club denies any accusations of illegal financial support to the Belgian club.
If the allegations are proven true, 'Arsenal' faces removal from the UEFA Champions League.
