Goalkeepers

1-Andreas Isaksson (Rennes, France) Date of Birth: 3.10.81 Caps: 38 Goals: 0

The first-choice goalkeeper became after the 2002 World Cup, when he managed to push out the retiring Magnus Hedman from the starting lineup. A great performance in the 2004 European Championship caught the eye of many football specialists and in the same year he moved from Sweden's Djurgarden to France's Rennes, where he still plays. This season the player did not play for 4 months due to a thigh injury, but now he is completely healthy and ready for matches.

12-John Alvbage (Viborg, Denmark) Date of Birth: 8.10.82 Caps: 1 Goals: 0

He made his debut in the national team just this January in a match against Jordan's national team, but has already earned the coach's trust. In 2005, he moved to Denmark's Viborg club, where he still plays.

23-Rami Shaaban (Fredrikstad, Norway) Date of Birth: 30.6.75 Caps: 0 Goals: 0

In 2002, he moved from Djurgarden to Arsenal, but after playing only three matches, he broke his leg and never returned to the main team's lineup. After several unsuccessful attempts in smaller European clubs, the goalkeeper finally managed to establish himself in Norway's Fredrikstad team. The player has not played a single match in the national team so far.

Defenders

15-Karl Svensson (IFK Gothenburg) Date of Birth: 21.3.84 Caps: 1 Goals: 0

The youngest player in the team. He made his debut in the national team in a friendly match against Saudi Arabia in January. At the age of 19, in 2003, he arrived at IFK Gothenburg club. He has played 15 matches in the Swedish under-21 national team and is considered one of the most promising defenders in his country.

5-Erik Edman (Rennes, France) Date of Birth: 11.11.78 Caps: 35 Goals: 1

Although he did not play in the 2002 World Cup, he established himself in Sweden's national team afterwards and was the main left-back in the 2004 European Championship. The player is known for his excellent passing and can be dangerous in attack. After a fairly successful season in England's Tottenham team, the defender moved to Rennes, France. Recently, the footballer recovered from a foot injury and hopes to be fully fit by the start of the championship.

3-Olof Mellberg (Aston Villa, England) Date of Birth: 3.9.77 Caps: 62 Goals: 2

He started his career in the Swedish national team as a right-back, but gradually took over Johan Mjallby's role in the center of defense after he retired from the team and was the main team defender in the 2002 World Cup. The player, with a leader's character, currently plays for England's Aston Villa team and is the captain of the team.

4-Teddy Lucic (BK Haecken) Date of Birth: 15.4.73 Caps: 80 Goals: 0

Despite not being able to establish himself in the strongest European football leagues, the experienced defender has a solid position in the national team's lineup next to Olof Mellberg. Currently, the footballer represents his native Haecken team, to which he moved after an unsuccessful season in Bayer Leverkusen club.

A young and promising defender who played excellently for Bayer Leverkusen club this season and received praise from the team's Sports Director Rudi Voller. The player has not played a single match in the national team so far and will have a great opportunity to do so during the World Cup.

13-Petter Hansson (SC Heerenveen, Netherlands) Date of Birth: 14.12.76 Caps: 12 Goals: 0

The defender representing the Heerenveen team in the Netherlands usually appears on the field only during friendly matches. He was included in the national team's lineup for the 2004 European Championship, but missed the entire tournament sitting on the bench.
