Players approaching the World Championship are haunted by misfortune. Many footballers dropped out of the lineup due to various injuries, while on Wednesday doubts arose about the participation of another player in the championship - Mexican national team goalkeeper Oswald Sanchez may miss the competition. On Wednesday, the goalkeeper's father passed away, so with only one day left until the start of the championship, it remains unclear whether O. Sanchez will remain in the national team.

A national team representative announced that the footballer's father, Felipe Sanchez, died of a heart attack. On Friday, it should be clarified whether the goalkeeper will continue to be part of the national team.

This World Championship would be the third for O. Sanchez, but so far the player has not played a single minute in the World Cup, as in the 1998 and 2002 championships Oswald took the position of the second goalkeeper and did not have the opportunity to appear on the field. Recently, O. Sanchez firmly held the position of the first goalkeeper. If the player did not remain in the national team, coach R. La Volpe would have to choose between J. Corona or G. Ochoa. By the way, the latter goalkeeper has almost no experience in the national team and has only defended its gates once.
